You can get most of the food and necessities in Ralphs which is
within walking distance. However, most of us will take a bus to nearby Culver
City Westfield Mall for more options which include Target, Macy’s JC Penny,
Bestbuy and more. Walmart is impossible to reach if you do not have a car. You
should not worry much as we can always organize a trip to nearby shopping
malls. Those in the dorms might want to take part in a night trip to Target
organized by the UCLA Housing Office. There you will be able to get a number of
necessities including bed linen which might be of concern to some since the
beds here are longer than those in Malaysia.
Good news is that Target (rival of Walmart) will be opened this coming fall so getting cheap stuff (who doesn't like cheap stuff??) will be easier than ever.
