Flyaway is the most common shuttle to LAX. It costs $10 now. Do
not take it unless you are not carrying any big luggage or you live near
Kinross/Veteran. The schedule is less frequent but the Flyaway is a fast method
of travelling LAX and Westwood.
PrimeShuttle and Super
Shuttle are airport
shuttle services, and they will take you to or from LAX. Prices are usually
about $20 (after tips) for the first person, and about $10 more for each
additional person. The advantage of these services is that they bring you to
(or pick you up at) your doorstep and they can be cheap if you are in a large
group. The downside is that the vans are shared, so they will drop other
passengers off, wait for them, or pick you up 3 hours before your flight, and
so on. It is usually advisable to make a reservation in advance.
If not, you can always take Big Blue Bus 3 or Culver City Green
Line 6 or Rapid 6 (50 cents) which is about an hour to 90 minutes ride. The
downside is that you have to catch the airport parking shuttle to the airport
and wait for the bus, which might be scary at night as LAX area is
generally not safe.
