As mentioned before, the dorms kick you out over the winter
break. Therefore, it would be best to ask your seniors who are staying off
campus if you could rent/stay their spot cheaply/freely. Or you can just travel
during the break. You can only move back the day the school starts.
For Thanksgiving Break and Spring Break, you can stay in your room, but all dining
facilities on the Hill will be closed.
If you parents or friends are visiting, they can stay in UCLA Guest House or crash your room if it is
just a couple of days (do check with your roommates first to see if they are
fine with it.) Motels and hotels around UCLA are very expensive, and can go
from $50-100. Santa Monica Youth Hostel is another option.
