Textbooks

There are several options to obtain the textbooks that you need. You can choose to buy, rent or borrow them. If you decide to purchase your textbooks, you are highly recommended to do so online since the Ackerman Bookstore sells them at a relatively higher price and the waiting line might be long during the first two weeks of classes. There is a textbook shop in Westwood known as Textbook Plus which is another popular option and sometimes sell textbooks at a cheaper price. Both stores sell new and used textbooks. The popular online sites to look for textbooks include the infamous Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, and Bruinwalk. For those who do not wish to purchase their textbooks, you can rent them for the quarter from Chegg and even Ackerman Union. If not, professors often put the textbooks on reserve in the library and students can borrow the books for up to 2 hours at each time. Some books might be available in digital form in the UCLA Library Catalog but that can only be accessed while you are plugged into the UCLA network. Otherwise, you can always engage in the typical Malaysian/Asian practice which shall not be elaborated on here and is not encouraged.
